    Physical Therapy for Cyclists Workshop

offered by Dr. Josh Madonick, DPT, PT, CSCS

    20 participants max/10 min

    $10 non refundable fee

BaseCamp Physical Therapy of Petaluma offers this workshop for SRCC members only.

Hey SRCC community, Spring is coming! Which means dry roads, green hills, and plenty of great riding weather are on the horizon.

As we approach this upcoming season, it's a great time to address any lingering issues that have come up in the past, or are perhaps even still bothering you.

Most cyclists experience nagging aches in their neck and lower back, and do nothing about it until it's become something that limits their riding. Some still choose not to address these problem areas, creating more frustration, limited progress, or even stopping cycling completely. Don't let that be you! BaseCamp Physical Therapy will be hosting a workshop focused on how to address these problem areas, and help you ensure continued progress in your riding level, while remaining pain-free. You might have tried physical therapy in the past, and had limited or even no success. But BaseCamp is different. They focus specifically on results-driven approaches specifically for athletes.

In this workshop, you'll learn strategies to make sure your neck, lower back, and hips are ready for riding.

Come dressed comfortably for stretches and floor exercises. (Do not bring your bikes.)

    CPR & AED Training

    CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and

    AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

Offered by Eric Peterson of Mill Creek Safety

SRCC is offering a CPR class for its members. It has been very apparent in recent weeks that CPR is a necessary tool for all cyclists. This class is a perfect gift to give and to receive for Valentine's Day!

Class description: This class will focus on applying CPR while cycling in remote areas of the county. While members have been cycling in Sonoma County, there have been several instances of downed riders and CPR was necessary.

What you'll get from this class: Community CPR & AED training.

Cost: $25 per person (club discount).

Please note: It is time consuming and burdensome for us to process refunds. Only register if you are confident you can commit to the date. If something arises, please give us advance notice and we can enable a wait list person to attend. (We aim to continue offering CPR classes until demand is met.)

What to bring: A main dinner dish will be available. Please bring something to to share and your preferred beverage.

Contact David Levinger, education@srcc.com with questions.
