Okay this is a ride for all pace categories but mainly to get some of the slower riders who have wanted to try the Kings Ridge Loop but have been for what ever reason avoiding this ride. If you don't mind climbing hills and would love to see some beautiful scenery this is the ride for you!!!

Remember this is a social ride and a slow pace with frequent stops at the top of hills is just fine. I guarantee you won't get left behind and will have someone to ride with as I will be at the back of the pack. It will give you a chance to take some pictures of the beautiful views on Kings Ridge and Meyers Grade.

Now for those who haven't done this ride I would highly recommend that you do at least two-three 3,000'+ elevation rides and at least two 4,000' elevation rides in a 40 mile distance in the weeks or month before you attempt this ride so your legs will be used to the climbing. No shortage of hills to practice on in Sonoma County: Lichau, Sonoma Mtn, Cavedale, Trinity, Los Alamos, Sweet Water, Rockpile, Coleman Valley, Geysers, and Pine Flat to name a few.

If you can't get in the training, then I wouldn't recommend this ride. The week before the ride I would refrain from doing any hills after Monday and just do some easier rides to give your legs a rest so they will be fresh for Saturday's ride. Now for all the other riders who have done this ride feel free to ride along with those in the club that you don't normally ride with or ride with your friends at your normal pace and enjoy the ride. Either way it is all good with me.

This ride is open to everyone in the club. The only thing I ask is that when going down Cazadero Hwy and Hwy 1 please do not ride in groups larger than 5 people. I don't want to cause a log jam on the roads where it makes it unsafe for a car to pass the riders on the road. This is the safest thing for the cars and the riders and we want to be a good example of how to represent cycling in the county.

Please wear bright clothing and have flashing lights on the ride if you have them as it is sometimes hard to see us in the shadows of the trees on King Ridge for the locals and we do want to be seen! :-) Also when you hear a car or truck make sure to get in single file as fast as possible so we won't have any incidents on the tight and narrow roads. The locals up there go pretty fast on those roads. Let's make this a memorable ride and make some great memories! If you have any questions feel free to shoot me an email.

This ride starts at 9am sharp. So if you can't be on time... please be early! :-)

Enjoy the day,
Dennis
