For hill climbers!

We start with a mostly flat warm up, then up the steep and lovely Ida Clayton and down 2 miles of gravel road on Western Mines road. We can take a quick water break in Middletown or Cobb, then up the gentle and quiet Bottle Rock. We can take a food break in Kelseyville (mile ~50), then over Hopland grade, which should be resplendent with redbud blossoms right about now. We can take a quick water break in Hopland, then ride over the quiet little hill on Mountain House to Cloverdale. It's flat the rest of the way back, though there is always the option of going over Geysers for those who prefer a more stout finish.

Meet at Geyserville Mud. There are two park and ride lots in Geyserville, from the 90 degree bend in 128 in central Geyserville, go either way on 128 and there is a lot on your right in a few hundred yards.

Please make sure your bike is in good condition. Do not assume there is cell coverage along all of this route. Bring two large water bottles and carry food.

People of all paces are welcome to come to enjoy this lovely route, but you are encouraged to invite a riding buddy and/or be prepared to be self-sufficient. Longish hilly rides with unpaved sections are so different from the speed trap etc that it's hard to say what a C pace is and sometimes we end up with a group so widely divergent in riding pace that we can't keep the group together.
