For those of you not traveling to see the full solar eclipse on Monday, August 21, here's a local version where we try to get a ride in before the main event and view the eclipse around 10:20 am at the observatory at Sugarloaf. NOTE: please read these warnings on viewing the solar eclipse: https://eclipse2017.nasa.gov/safety. Also, free glasses are available at the Sonoma County Library but get them fast before they run out!
Let's start at Howarth at 8am, ride up Los Alamos, and then up to the Robert Ferguson Observatory on Adobe Rd. to arrive around 10am. I'm hoping we could then watch the event with their equipment but I have no idea how crowded it will be up there.
