Sherry Adams so kindly scouted out Western Mine Road for me last week, and she texts: 'Western mines road is in great shape.' Be prepared for a 3-mile descent on gravel (Western Mines Road) after climbing up Ida Clayton. At mile 31 we can top off water bottles at the Middletown Square Park in preparation for the climb up Bottle Rock. We will stop for lunch in Kelseyville at mile 53. After lunch we will meander up the Hopland Grade and count how many turns there are along the road (John Anton claims there are 210, 5 where he crossed the double yellow line while driving his sports car). Before our final climb up Mountain House Road, we will stop at the Hopland Gas & Mart at mile 75 for more food and beverage.
