A pleasant loop out of Petaluma. I street is potholey but lovely and we dodge downtown Novato by taking the Indian Valley fire road. This is about 1 mile of hard packed dirt, quite flat, and a little bumpy at the end. It's smoother than some of the paved roads in Petaluma so most folks will have no problem doing this on a road bike. However this is a popular shared path and we'll be respectful of other path users. We climb over Lucas Valley to get back, its a narrow climb so we'll be in groups of no more than 3 to make it easy for cars to get around us. The quiet rolling back roads of Hicks Valley and Wilson Hill bring us back to Petaluma.
