SRCC is holding group rides in accordance with the June 5, 2020, Sonoma County health order C19-14: "Stay Well Sonoma County – Order extending Shelter in Place, allowing more businesses to operate in the County, and requiring mitigation measures such as Social Distancing, Face Coverings, and Hygiene Requirements."

Pre-registration for all rides is required as groups must be less than 10 people (not including the leader/leaders). Registration will close at midnight the night before the ride is scheduled.

All registrants must acknowledge a COVID-19 Liability Release and that they will comply with the SRCC Covid-19 Compliance Plan. Please read the plan and come prepared (e.g., bring your face covering). Riders that have not signed up online will not be allowed to attend the ride.

If you can no longer attend, please cancel your registration as far in advance as possible (login to the SRCC website, go to the event page, click “already registered,” and then click the button to cancel).

PLEASE arrive at LEAST 10 minutes before the ride start time and be ready to ride at the start time.  It will take a little longer than usual for the ride leader briefing. Those arriving late may not be allowed to ride.

UNSUPPORTED DOUBLE CENTURY

Route Slip

300K (189 mi) with added loop at the end to make it close to a Double Century (197 mi).

What do OCD cyclists do during a pandemic when double centuries have all been cancelled?  Ride their own, of course.  This is the one and only Summer Solstice DC, starting from my house.  There will be plenty of parking at my house.  Please show up on time, as I will call roll at 5AM and then leave promptly.  The ride will be randonneur-style; however, there will be no control points and no need to acquire receipts.  Bring lights.  Sunrise will be 5:46AM, sunset 8:41 PM.It will be hot in Lower Lake (forecasted high of 95), so come prepared with your extra large water bottles. This is an UNSUPPORTED event.

Relevant information:

1) 8.5 miles of freeway riding: 101 from Cloverdale to Hopland.  The  uphill averages about 3%, and the shoulder is wide, separated from the freeway by a rumble strip.  However, the shoulder is closed for a 100-yard uphill stretch. At 6-6:30AM, the traffic should be minimal.

2) Mile 31: Sanel Market

3) Mile 51, Kelseyville Food Center

4) Mile 66: Tank up on water and food in Lower Lake, no services for the next 45 miles.  Along the Berryessa-Knoxville Road, there are a dozen cement culverts (I counted them when I rode Knoxville last year) where it can be extremely slippery if wet.  Please exercise caution and consider walking your bike if you see water on the cement.

5) Mile 111: Spanish Flat Country Stop and Deli

6) Mile 141: Calistoga: Cal Mart

7) Mile 166: Esposti Park, water

8) Mile 174: Sonoma County Water Agency, water

9) Mile 187: Here you can decide if you want to ride the full DC or head directly to the finish and complete 300K.

Congratulations!  You are officially an OCD Pandemic Double finisher.
