The Mountain Goats will be doing the 7th Annual Mountain Goat King Ridge Beginners  - see route below - 50 miles and 5000’ of elevation. This ride on May 28 will allow those who have never done this ride time to get your legs into hill climbing shape.

To prepare for this ride, you will need to do a bunch of 3,000’ and hopefully some 4000’ climbs with 40-50 miles on these rides to give yourself a good chance for success on this ride. There are many hills in the area that you can practice on for this ride to get yourself ready. Los Alamos, Cavedale, Trinity, Sonoma Mtn, Lichau, Coleman Valley (in either direction), Ft Ross, Sweetwater (one way or over and back), Mill Creek, Pine Flat, Geysers, and Pine Mtn, to name a few.

This ride is open to all paces from A-D so come out and join us but the goats will mainly be concentrating on the first timers doing this ride. So please do not feel pressured to go at someone else's pace as we will ride as slow as you need to go to make this challenging but very beautiful ride. Your leader, Dennis Prior, will be riding off the back with a bunch of the other Mountain Goats coaxing the new folks along the route.

The ride down Meyers Grade with the view of our coastline never disappoints. Ebikes are welcome as there is no reason everyone shouldn't be able to enjoy this ride. Make sure your bike is in good working order with tires that are in good shape as well and make sure you have a couple of spare tubes as well total with you with plenty of CO2 cartridges or a good pump. We try to keep the mechanicals to a minimum on this ride.

We will have at least one SAG out on the course and water with that SAG as well as water at our resting point for lunch at Ratna Ling. Any questions please email the leader with questions

This is not a race and we encourage people to take their time and enjoy the gorgeous scenery that is available throughout the ride. The views are just stunning!
