Roadside First Aid

Registration is open (Minimum 12 participants)

$25 Fee.

The Club is sponsoring a  First Aid training session provided by club members and emergency and medical professionals Eric Peterson and Loie Sauer, MD. Eric has worked as a paramedic, firefighter and instructor at Sonoma State University and has been training safety professionals for over 20 years. Loie Sauer is a cardiac and vascular surgeon. There is a fee of $25 per person for the class

In this class you will learn:

  1. Where most accidents happen and how to avoid them.
  2. How to assess the scene after a crash has occurred.
  3. The most common injuries associated with cycling and how to treat them.

Be prepared and dressed for hands-on training.

What should participants bring to the clinic?

If a few people rode bikes to the class, we would use the bikes in staging accidents. Half of class will be classroom and half will be hands-on treatment.

“The instructor did very well keeping all of our attention.”

“Very enjoyable. Eric is an entertainer and the time flew by. “

“I appreciated the personal tips for safe riding, in addition to the first aid information about helping others. “

“I found it well worth my time even though I have attended the class before some years ago. It provided some new or updated information and helped to reinforce material previously presented. Eric is a very engaging and effective instructor and packed substantial information into a modest time window. Very good. I'll feel better if everyone I ride with takes it. “
